Qualifications and experience
I hold a postgraduate Diploma in Transpersonal, Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have been working one-to-one with clients since 2008. I am an accredited member of the UKCP (ukcp.org.uk) and a registered member of the BACP (bacp.org.uk). I regularly undertake continuous professional development (CPD).
The UKCP and BACP are the two representative and awarding bodies for the Counselling and Psychotherapy profession in the UK. I practice within the code of conduct and ethical guidelines of both of these organisations.
Choosing a Counsellor or Psychotherapist who is accredited and registered with these organisations means that you can be assured the therapist has undertaken a substantial level of training.
My training took five years. In addition to academic work, it involved completing more than 650 hours of client work within various counselling centres and projects in London and within NHS settings. Several hundred hours of my own personal psychotherapy were a further requirement of my training.
